SUNDAY EUCHARIST

Matzah and a silver Kiddush cup on a Passover cloth.

Friday is the Holy Day for our Muslim brothers and sisters!

Saturday is the Holy Day for our Jewish bretheren!

Sunday is the Holy Day for Christians!

Many Christians mark their Holy Day with a celebration of the Eucharist. It is a special liturgy that offers great spiritual nourishment to the faithful which centers around the Word of God as well as the precious gift that Jesus left to His followers at the Last Supper, namely, His Body and Blood in the simple form of bread and wine!

Easter Season

Liturgy of the Word

7th Sunday of Easter / Ascension of Our Lord

May 17, 2026

We now LISTEN attentively to what God has to say to us this day in the WORD!

GOD's WORD FOR TODAY

“If today you hear His voice, harden not your heart!”

Praise to You, Lord, Jesus Christ!

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening!”

What Does Real Service Look Like?

Maybe it looks a lot less dramatic than we imagine.

It looks like showing up when you’re tired.

Listening when you would rather shut down.

Being patient with someone who is struggling.

Choosing kindness when irritation would be easier.

Doing the small unnoticed things that nobody applauds and nobody posts online.

Real service is rarely glamorous. Most of the time, it looks ordinary. Quiet. Hidden.

Jesus washed feet. He touched the sick. He stopped for people others ignored. Even at the end of his life, with betrayal and suffering already closing in around him, his concern was still for the people he loved.

That is what mature faith looks like.

Not constantly asking, “How am I being recognized?” but quietly asking, “Who needs love right now?”

Service looks like the nurse finishing one more task before going home.

The caregiver who is exhausted but still gentle.

The friend who answers the late-night phone call.

The person who keeps praying even when they feel empty.

The believer who keeps choosing compassion in a world growing colder.

And maybe most importantly, true service does not keep score.

It simply gives because love has become who we are.
