Brother Jeremiah is a monk with the Ecumenical Order of Charity, living a modern monastic life rooted in community, service, and compassion. Rather than withdrawing from the world, he is deeply engaged in it—building relationships, serving neighbors, and integrating spirituality into everyday life.
A proud Puerto Rican born in Brooklyn and raised in Philadelphia, Brother Jeremiah works in healthcare as a Trauma Advocate and Case Manager, accompanying individuals and families through moments of crisis and healing. He also serves in pastoral ministry with St. Miriam Old Catholic Church in Pennsylvania, where he celebrates Eucharist and preaches regularly.
Outside of his professional work, he is an enthusiastic cook who loves gathering friends and neighbors around the table at Bethlehem House and is an avid Philadelphia’s sports teams' fan. His passion for service extends beyond his profession, especially in his commitment to supporting the poor, the homeless, and those living on the margins, both locally and abroad.
In 2021, he founded Bethlehem House Ministries, a charitable nonprofit entity registered in the state of Pennsylvania dedicated to providing material, emotional, and spiritual support to those in need.
Grounded in the intentional practices of Gratitude, Kindness, and Mindfulness, this ministry seeks to foster:
